What Silver-N-Gold actually smells like (and why it’s back)

Silver-N-Gold was never meant to stick around.

It turned up last year inside a Whiff Box as a Travel Spray, Pods and a Scentsy Soak, and that was supposed to be that. Whiff Box fragrances usually are one-offs. You get them, you like them or you don’t, and by the time you’ve decided you love one it has already gone.

Enough people didn’t accept that. Scentsy heard about it from customers, from Partners, and from anyone who had got through their Travel Spray and wanted another. So Silver-N-Gold is coming back on Saturday 1 August, and this time it is staying.

So what does it actually smell like?

Golden pineapple · Sweet strawberry · Silver woods

That is the official list, and it is accurate, but it doesn’t tell you much about what happens when you put it in a warmer.

The pineapple comes first and it is the loudest thing in the blend. Not the sugary tinned kind. It reads as fresh fruit, sharp at the edges, and it fills a room faster than you expect. The strawberry sits underneath and takes some of that sharpness off. On its own the fruit would be a bit much, the sort of scent that is lovely for twenty minutes and tiring by the evening.

The silver woods are what stop that happening. They are dry and slightly cool, and they hold the fruit in place rather than letting it go sweet.

It is why the blend works in a living room and not only in a kitchen. If you like Scentsy’s fruit fragrances but usually find them a bit young, this is the one to try. And if you have someone in the house who complains that fruity scents smell like sweets, the woods are your argument.

What you can get this time

Four products, and one of them is new.

Scentsy Bar New

94 ml / 74 g
£8

Travel Spray

59 ml
£13.50

Scentsy Pod Twin Pack

2 pods
£13.50

Single-Use Scentsy Soak While stocks last

226 g
£10.50

The Scentsy Bar is the addition. Silver-N-Gold has never existed as a bar before, which is a strange gap given it is the format most people start with. At £8 it is also the cheapest way to find out whether you like the fragrance, and if it turns out not to be your thing you have not lost much.

The Travel Spray is back at £13.50 for 59 ml. This is the one that gets used far more than the size suggests. Two pumps in the car, over the sofa before people arrive, on the coats by the door.

The Scentsy Pod Twin Pack is £13.50 for two pods, for anyone using a Scentsy fan diffuser. No wax and no waiting for a melt pool, which matters if you want fragrance in a bedroom or an office rather than a main room.

The Single-Use Scentsy Soak is £10.50 for a 226 g pouch of Epsom and pink Himalayan salts. One bath, one pouch.

The one with a deadline

The Bar, the Pods and the Travel Spray are joining the permanent range. There is no rush on those. Order them in August, order them in November, they will be there.

The Single-Use Scentsy Soak is different. It is available while stocks last and it is not being repeated. When this run sells through, that is the end of it. If the Soak is the one you want, put it in the basket first and think about the rest afterwards.

One more thing on the practical side: the Bar, Pods and Travel Spray can be added to Scentsy Club, so you can have them arrive automatically. The Soak cannot.

When it goes live

Everything is available from 8am on Saturday 1 August. We have put the full range on one page with prices, product photos and the scent notes for each one, so you can see the lot in a single place before you decide.

If you are still not sure

Buying fragrance you have not smelled is a gamble, and we would rather you did not waste money on it. Message us before you order. Tell us what you already burn and what you have gone off, and we will tell you honestly whether this one is likely to suit you.

Sometimes the answer is no. That is fine. We would far rather say so than sell you a bar that sits in a drawer.
